In the fall of 2007, a new Board of Directors was established.  For the first time in many years, every available board position was filled.  Your Executive and the Board of Directors is comprised of energy filled new Chamber members, experienced past board members, our town council representative, a representative from Lacombe County Council, and from the Town of Lacombe Economic Development Board.

This past December and January, a committee of 15 people met with a facilitator to discuss the future goal of the Chamber.  This committee consisted of Chamber members at large and Board members.  The goal was to establish a new vision and mission for the Chamber in our ever changing vibrant business community.  The committee was designed to identify which programs, initiatives, and activities the Chamber should execute in conjunction with the new vision and mandate.  They also had for their information a series of membership surveys that were distributed amongst our membership.  

We feel that the committee was successful and achieved this goal.

The strategic planning sessions identified that your Chamber of Commerce should concentrate our activities based around the promotion of our membership, and the growth of the overall business community in our area.  We realized that a continuous drain on our volunteer resources from numerous activities spearheaded by the Chamber must be streamlined into fewer but more successful activities.  

It was also determined that stronger relationships must be developed between the Chamber and our partners in the town and county.
