Advocacy on behalf of our membership was identified as a vital role of your Chamber of Commerce.  In each of the recent Provincial and Federal Elections this committee took a lead role in presenting issues important to our membership to candidates.  We held a Candidates Forum in each of the two elections, and sought responses to important issues in writing that were published in local media.  The committee is mandated to follow-up with each elected official within one year of taking office to ensure that they have fulfilled there commitment regarding these issues.  This committee will continue to be a leading voice for our membership concerning issues which are affected by our provincial, federal, county and civic officials.
