October 17^th through 21^nd, 2011 is Small Business Week in Lacombe!

This is a chance for the Chamber and the Community to recognize, support and celebrate Lacombe businesses through various networking, team building, and business recognition events.

Scheduled Events for 2011

Kick Off Breakfast: Monday, October 17^th - 7:30 - 9:00am

Enjoy a delicious, networking breakfast. Come prepared with plenty of business cards!

"Minute to Win It" Corporate Challenge: Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30pm

A fun evening of challenges and team building, competing against up to eleven other teams to gather points which will be tracked to determine the winner of the 2011 Corporate Challenge! All you need for Tuesday night's challenge is gym clothes and running shoes. Stay tuned for details as to how your company team can participate in this hilarious and raucous event.

Business Builder Sessions: Wednesday, October 19 - 9:00am - 4:00pm

These professional and personal development sessions are provided to Chamber members free of charge by our Small Business Week sponsors. Stay tuned for course descriptions and be ready to RSVP.

Business After 5: Wednesday, October 19 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm 

Gather for Business to Business connections - Flatiron Building - Appetizers and Refreshments available. (Refreshments $5.00 each)

"Amazing Race" Corporate Challenge: Thursday, October 20 at 6:30pm

Each team will need a vehicle that will transport your team (or two vehicles). Events will be held outside, so wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. Event will run rain or shine (or snow, or wind... etc.).You will need to provide a flashlight for your team (ideally one per person) and you may get dirty, so gloves might be a good idea! Someone should be designated as the "driver" for the entire evening. Be prepared for an evening that will test your brain power and a bit of your physical prowess.

* All Corporate Challenge events will award points to the participating teams. Points will be collected and used to determine the recipient of the coveted 2011 Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce trophy. Maximum of 12 teams of 4 to 6 participants. All must be over 18 years of age.

Chamber Awards Gala: Friday, October 21 at 6:00pm

To conclude Small Business Week, we will be honouring award recipients in the following categories:
- Small Business of the Year
- Large Business of the Year
- Rookie Business of the Year
- Farm Family of the Year
- Not-for-Profit or Registered Society of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement 
- Citizen of the Year (New! for 2011)
