Farm Family of the Year
The ‘Farm Family of the Year’ award recognizes a Lacombe County family whose main business is in agriculture. It could be a dairy farm, a wheat farm or anything in between as long as the family operates within the County. Agriculture has a significant positive impact on our community and Lacombe would not be what it is today without the families who do this important work, and have done, in some instances for over 100 years.
Nominees should be involved in their community through volunteerism and philanthropy; have multiple generations actively working in the business; be pursuing new and innovative technology; be committed to doing business and buying locally when possible and have an interest in finding new ways to educate future generations about agriculture.
Nominations can be made by any individual or group, with final decisions on the award recipient being made by the selection committee comprised of chamber board directors. Nominees participate in an interview or will provide a completed questionnaire to the selection committee outlining their participation in the above-mentioned categories.
