INTERESTED IN FEEDING OUR TRADE SHOW VENDORS?

By the time Trade Show Day #1 is over, our vendors are tired and hungry! We like to provide them with some food on Friday night before we send them home to rest up. This year we'd like to work with a local business on this event through sponsorship.

Would your business be interested in feeding our vendorst?
Let us know! We'll make it worth your while.

TOMORROW: DATE CHANGE FOR STEP PRESENTATION

Join us at the Chamber Office on February 1st at 12pm for an informal presentation from Nicole Lorrain, with the GOA. She'll be sharing information about the
Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP);
how to apply, what's required, and who qualifies.

STEP is a 4-16 week wage subsidy program that provides funding to eligible Alberta employers to hire high school or post-secondary students into summer jobs from May to August.
A standardized wage subsidy of $7.00/hour to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week will be provided to approved applicants.

The presentation will conclude by 1pm and attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch as lunch will not be served.

Additional attendees still welcome!

Please RSVP to Monica at monica(at)lacombechamber.ca

SAVE WITH MEMBER 2 MEMBER PROGRAM

Have you seen the Member2Member discount program on our website?

We currently have 8 amazing offers listed through local chamber members. That's a good start but we'd like to see the program expand this year. Help us double by the end of the first quarter!

By clicking on the image you'll find a complete list of Chamber Members who are offering discounts - some of which are available to your staff!

If you would like to participate with your business, please email monica(at)lacombechamber.ca with your offer. Your business will be added along with a link to your website and details about your offer.

OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN POLITICAL ADVOCACY

Our next committee opportunity will be a Policy Committee. Through the Alberta Chambers of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce we are able to actively participate in policy generation.

A short-term goal is to host a session in Lacombe with the Policy Coordinator from the ACC to assist us with education and to add a bit of clarity to the process during the first quarter.

The second short-term goal would be to review new/potential policies in advance of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce conference in Leduc May 25-27.

If policy is a topic that gets you excited then we'd like you to join our committee.
Please respond by email to monica(at)lacombechamber.ca or call the office at 403-782-4300.
