Embrace Lacombe, brought to you by the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce

Posted: Aug 27, 2021

This summer, the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce was approved for federal grant funding to produce a large-scale Shop Local campaign within the community. The federal governmenadministered said program through provincial and territorial chambers. The Lacombe Chamber would like to thank the Alberta Chambers of Commerce for facilitating this important opportunity. This campaign endeavors to strengthen Lacombe’s local economy, support employment and ensure future competitiveness.

Thanks to this incredible funding opportunity, the campaign intends to support businesses and communities by increasing sustainability through marketing, education, and the launch of a province-wide, online marketplace. Thanks to the support of dedicated committee volunteers, the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce was able to put together a plan that satisfies all three of these requirements.

The Lacombe Chamber Executive Director spoke of their excitement with the new campaign, “We are thrilled to provide some support for local businesses and celebrate them in the process. We have some incredibly creative and resilient business people in our community and we look forward to recognizing that through our new Embrace Lacombe campaign.”

Lacombe is a vibrant and diverse community with countless hidden gems; and Embrace Lacombe is going to bring further awareness to this strong community. Citizens are going to discover Lacombe, business owners are going to invest in Lacombe, and visitors will engage with Lacombe.

The Lacombe Chamber of Commerce Executive Director continued to say, “We are grateful that the Federal Government put this program into place – recognizing that our local businesses are such a huge driver of the national economy. A project of this scale would not have been possible otherwise.”

One of the volunteer committee members, praised the project, “We’d like to thank the Alberta Chambers of Commerce for acting as the conduit for this program. Their task of adjudicating applications from across the province was likely very challenging! We look forward to seeing all of the creative ideas that come out of local projects across Alberta.”
